Auckland Web Meetup
I will attend, on Thursday July 2nd, my first Auckland Web Meetup.
I recently discovered the website called Meetup. It’s pretty interesting for meeting people who have similar interests. You can create (or join) a meetup group on any subjects. It’s similar to Ning which allows you to create social networks as for example the Human Computer Interaction group. If you haven’t heard about Meetup; check it out which groups exist in your region.
The Auckland Web meetup is about meeting website designers and attending one or more presentations. On July 2nd, the first speaker will be Neil Wilkinson from Yahoo and will talk about YQL : “the latest Yahoo’s SQL-like language which provides straightforward ways to mash up different APIs into one data source for use in applications.” He will also talk about the Flickr API which I would like to use it more efficiently on my website since I’m already a Flickr member and I enjoy using this photo sharing website. There will be 2 other speakers:
- James Cooper from vectorstock.com;
- Greg Wood talking about how to judge the Cannes Cyber Lions.
See you there!
